Family Vacation 2012

We have a great time at Base Camp!!! This rental has everything. It is comfortable, clean and very easy to get in and out of. We really like sleeping with the windows open hearing the sounds of the stream right next to the building. Winter Park Lodging does a wonderful job! And a big thanks to the owners for sharing.

Base Camp #472 was one of two places rented for a family reunion that included 7 or our grandchildren. We were very pleased with layout which provided privacy for adults and room (downstairs TV den) for alone time for our eldest grandchild. It was really helpful to have the in unit elevator. Kitchen was a dream. Great place for summer and winter. Winter Park Lodging folks were very pleasant to work with. I will definitely use them in the future.

Check in was no problem. The Condo was as described. A few things didn't work but were marked. Outdoor fireplace, elevator. Overall the walk to the mountain wasn't bad and we were able to leave our skis at the top overnight making it much easier. When we called about any problems winter park lodging company was very responsive. You will need a car.

We loved the condo! It is beautifully furnished, amazing location, short walk and stair climb to slopes or quick bus ride to lifts, second bus route gets you to a grocery store, awesome kitchen well stocked with cookware and spices, super comfy beds/pillows, private bathroom for each bedroom is perfect, humidifiers came in handy when we got a little congested! Winter Park Lodging Company was amazing, taking care of everything we asked for and helping us prepare for our family's first ever ski vacation! We will defintely stay here again!!! Overall - amazing, excellent, fantastic condo!!!

Perfect Escape from the Heat

Base Camp #472 was indeed the ideal location for a family celebration of the daughter's 40th B'day. We all were escaping the heat of the Texas gulf coast as well as NW Virginia. The accomodations fit us perfectly and the common spaces were just what was needed to enjoy family time. Everyone wanted to take the kitchen home for the style and convenience. We understood the owner's family was coming in behind our departure 8/3 so I left a short list of items we saw that might need attention and they were minor to any honey-dew list I have at home! Access to the village and to downtown WP was easy and the 8 & 11 year old girls were happy to ride the alpine slide again and again. There are a lot of moving parts to get a scattered family to den at the same time, arrange cars, make the treak up the mountains, so finding Base Camp #472 all we hoped for made the effort very worthwhile. The owners are lucky the framed photo in the dining area was way too large for our suitcases, as we have several of that photographer's work in Va and TX and that great piece would look good at home (and anywhere)!! Hope to return in the future!

Spacious, well-appointed and a great location! What more could you ask for? We loved it. Hope to return next year. Winter Park Lodging was great to work with.P.S. Ski-in, ski-out was a little challenging if you were a beginner.

Everything was awesome, with the exception, that we booked a ski-in ski-out house. This place is not that. It is a hike to get to the slopes. about 50 steps up...It is a hike-in hike-out house... I wish i would have been told that from the get go. Other than that, place was perfect!

Hi Pat, We're glad you had a great stay. We do try to explain the walk to the slopes to every guest that books Base Camp. Technically it is ski in/out, but you do have to walk down a path and up stairs (or down if returning). We had a great time on our spring break vacation this year. We loved the townhome and everyone expressed that they want to come back and stay at the same place again. It gave everyone space and was beautiful. The ski in/ski out was perfect for our group since we had many levels of skiers and snowboarders and we didn't want to stay together. We thought the trip to the run was very easy. We hope to be back soon, maybe a summer vacation. The Binghams

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at base camp #472. We had 4 couples and a few children in our party and the townhome offered plenty of room for our group. I would highly recommend this townhome for your stay in Winter Park. The only negative thing about the stay was the climb you have to make to the slopes. Therefore, I definitely wouldn't consider this a ski in ski out. However, we could catch the shuttle at the end of the drive and we were like 5 minutes from the base of Winter Park.

We had two families in base camp, and we loved our visit so much, we talked about the return while we were there. The house had great location to skiing out and a convienent shuttle stop. Equally impressive was everyone at Winter Park Lodging Company, from my first phone call to the last. Everyone was polite, friendly and extremely helpful! Thanks to all for a great vacation!

Absolutely incredible 5 story townhouse. Loved the decor, the layout, the management company and much more. Only complaint is you need to have a high speed elevator from the townhouse to the ski hill. We all died walking up the stairs. Thanks for a wonderful time! Management company even provided us with extras like coupons, towels, blankets and pillows. Went above and beyond the agreement.

Winter Park Lodging Company was great to work with. They were responsive and informative. They made the booking simply and painless. I will be using them for future Winter Park bookings. Winter Park SKI resort was also great. We did have great weather which made it that much better. The staff was helpfull and attentive. This was especially important to us since we had 2 small children in ski school. Base Camp #472 was also great. Very large with comfortable modern finishings. If you love to cook you'll love the kitchen. For those of you worried about the multiple levels, the elevator helps but it's a bit slow. Getting to the ski trail is a quick 3-5 minute walk behind the unit. There are several flights of stairs at the end which isn't easy at 9,000 feet. You can always take to the shuttle which is a short walk away. If you walk to the shuttle minus well just take the elevator at the Iron House Resort which is at the shuttle stop. It's a quick ride up and 30 second walk to the ski trail with no stairs involved. This was my first ski trip the CO and can confidently say I'll be back to WinterPark and will look to book Base Camp #472 again.

We spent a week at this property and it was beyond our expectations!! The home was definitely a 5 star property and the staff at WPLCO went above and beyond in making our stay absolutely perfect! The home has everything and anything you will need and the furnishings are elegantly appointed. The owners spared no expense in creating a luxurious property in the heart of Winter Park. Amazing Exprerience!

Base Camp is AWESOME!! The location is perfect a short walk to the base of Winter Park Village. So much fun with many activites to enjoy outside with our family. The house is beautiful and perfectly put together. Plenty of room for the kids to play on all 5 floors! The elevator was a great entertainment for our 4 year old and very helpful loading and unloading all of our things. The outdoor area with the hot tub and fire place was a perfect place to unwind after a long day exploring. The sound of Jane Creek was very soothing and made you feel relaxed. Winter Park Lodging Company was wonderful to work with and were very personable. WE can not wait to come back and enjoy it very soon! Thank you very much!!

Hands down, you will not find a nicer place. Attention to detail is top notch! Heated tile floors??? Are you kidding?! That was a nice touch! We had a large group and everyone was comfortable. The indoor elevator was very nice for when all our ski gear was on and we forgot something upstairs. We literally walked around to the back of the house to get on the slope, then skied down to the chair lift. Same thing on the way home. And we all agreed the hot tube is what kept us all from getting sore. Very nice and we'll be back! Jay W.

Pretty Amazing

The place itself was just amazing. It is just about perfect in terms of furnishings, kitchens,square footage, location, value. Elavator and Hot Tub add those extra touches. THe pictures are acurate, but the property is better in person. You should be aware that there is a huge wooden staircase at the back of the property (not in sight) which leads to the ski trails. It is about three stories; you can always take the shuttle if you don't want to climb the stairs.
