This is a fantastic unit in an amazing location. We had 8 people with plenty of room for all (and then some) and it was a great value. The on-slope location is very unique and for anyone who doesn't want to make the short climb, shuttle service is quick and comes right to your door, with drop-off and pick-up right at the lift, you don't even have to walk through the resort like other shuttle riders. This unit couldn't have been better unless it was at the top of Mary Jane! We hope to return soon and often and really appreciate all the service and amenities that were a part of the package.

We loved our stay at base camp 456. We had plenty of room for the families and children we were with. Kids loved the hot tub! We loved the proximity to the ski resort, etc. Great place to relax after skiing. Nice cozy and inviting atmosphere. Just what we expected in a ski lodge condo. We couldn't quite figure out why we only had 4 tv stations, but we weren't there to watch tv. We experienced trouble with the wireless network, but the team came out to fix it. Sarah and the whole staff were very accommodating! The best! Thanks for a memorable time!
Manager's Response:
Glad you loved it, Robin! We checked the TV and all is working well with the cable. The only thing we can think of is that you had it on the wrong setting as if you change the basic remote channel off of 3, then you can't get to all of the cable settings. Hope to see you again next year! Sarah, owner, WPLCO

We really enjoyed our trip in January to Winterpark and the townhouse at Base Camp 456 was great. There was plenty of room for the 8 teenagers who accompanied us. Our plan is to reserve again and probably sometime in December of 2011. The boys and girls who accompanied us were on their college winter break and they all noted that the trip was the highlight of their break!
Wonderful place for your ski vacation!!!

Base Camp #456 was an awesome home for our ski trip! Four families shared the home and had more than enough space. Kitchen is equipped wonderfully - won't need to bring a thing. Hot tub is perfect after a long day on the slopes. Master bedroom and bathroom is great. Radiant heat throughout kept the house toasty. Ski in/out is a little difficult (perfect for blue skiiers but too tough for the beginners in our group) but the shuttle bus stop is literally right out the front door and ran very frequently. As you can tell, we had a great time and would definitely recommend this place and we plan on staying again when we come back to ski at Winter Park.
Fun! Fun! Fun!

Fabulous Corner Unit - 456

Base Camp is a FABULOUS hidden community. We loved unit 456. It was fabulous! It was a corner unit so it did not have lots of walls in the best rooms, kitchen and living room. This corner unit had plenty of windows which made it so pretty at night. The shuttle stopped right outside our door. I loved our lower level bedroom because it had an outside comfortable seating area to watch tv. The rooms upstairs were hidden away - nicely designed and plenty space in each room. The large open space from the living room to the kitchen was also nicely designed. The only thing we did not like, all the other units had surround sound systems and this unit did not, no daily housekeeping, and no private shuttle. We will stay again!

We had great service from start to finish with the Winter Park Lodging Company. Everyone was extremely nice and helpful. The House was absolutely gorgeous! It was big enough to fit our large group of 10 comfortably. It was nice to be able to fit everyone in the kitchen for our meals. We also really enjoyed the games the owners had available! And the heated floors were a definite plus! However, we did have a few complaints. We would not necessarily recommend this place if you are looking for a true ski in/ski out. The hike to and from the trail is definitely a work out in itself. We had people who opted to eat lunch on the mountain to avoid making the hike more than in the morning and at night. Another thing was the hot tub. It was never actually "hot". We couldn't use the tub because it was too cold to sit out in the luke warm water. They called a maintenance man and said they had fixed it and that there is a rule in CO where the water has to be under a certain temp, but it never even got close to that temp. We stayed at the Iron Horse Lodge the year before and their hot tubs were about twice as warm as this one. One other thing about the house, is that there weren't enough plates, glasses and utensils. We had to run the dishwasher after every meal and at night to make sure we had clean glasses/plates for the next one. All in all, we had a blast and are definitely glad we stayed in this unit. Winter Park is a great place to ski and this house was the perfect place to relax afterwards.
Manager's Response:
Thank you for the review and the suggestions. We have fixed the hot tub by increasing the power source and so it is now very hot and bubbly. Come by and try it out - we'd love to have you as guests again. We also have gotten more plates, glasses and utensils, so we're all set for your next stay.

We got exactly what it said on the box! All the things we expect from WPBO, such as stylish and clean accomodation and a welcome that seems to pervade not only the resort of Winter park but also the rental properties that WPBO represent we got! Winter park became our resort of choice when we lived in Denver and always rented through WPBO. We really appreciate the reliability of the service and feel that the properties are always marketed accurately. We loved Base Camp 456 and fought over the ridiculously comfy love seat and footstool everynight. We loved the convenience of the ski in/out location and the ski rental outlet at the Ironhorse resort over the road. The only slight criticism is that we are English and love to cook and felt that for the size of the house and it's capacity we could have done with more pots, pans and ovenware (though thanks for the kettle on the stove so we Brits could have our morning tea!). Some more glasses and tableware would also have been nice. All in all a truly wonderful holiday. Loved the house, the skiing, and all the new cool things at Winter Park resort base
